Kentucky Entrepreneurship Extravaganza – Run for the Unicorns – to Feature Shark Tank Open Casting Call

The Shark Tank crew is coming to Kentucky on April 29 as part of the week-long Run for the Unicornsgathering. As part of the state’s efforts to showcase its business-friendly environment, producers of Shark Tank will host an open casting call at the University Club in Louisville (http://nnw.fm/esc6K). Budding entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to pitch a business/product/idea to a member of the casting team, just as they would on the award-winning ABC reality TV series.
Run for the Unicorns and this Shark Tank segment are planned to coincide with the Kentucky Derby Festival, which culminates on Saturday, May 4, with the famous race, dubbed the ‘The Fastest Two Minutes in Sports’, giving investors, entrepreneurs and others the opportunity to kill many birds with one stone.
Shark Tank, now in its tenth season, has been credited with reinvigorating entrepreneurship in America. Since its inception in 2009, over $100 million in deals have been offered in the Tank by the Sharks. The 2018-19 season features Mark Cuban, owner and chairman of AXS TV and the 2011 NBA champion Dallas Mavericks; real estate mogul Barbara Corcoran; “Queen of QVC” Lori Greiner; technology innovator Robert Herjavec; fashion and branding expert Daymond John; and venture capitalist Kevin O’Leary.
Run for the Unicorns, hosted by Convergence, is a confab on blockchain, cryptocurrency, disintermediation and decentralization in the fintech space, as well as related issues (http://nnw.fm/83wOu). It will be held over six days – April 29 – May 4, 2019 – giving participants ample time to get up to speed on the latest developments and make new friends.
The gathering of top innovators, investors and disrupters will kick off with a pre-conference Hackathon and E-sports game jam powered by blockchain, AI, and XR technologies. Other featured events include the Shark Tank casting call, a VIP investor dinner, a trip on the ‘Bourbon Trail’, a poker tournament and a gathering at the ‘Run for the Fillies’ (a race for three-year-old female horses held on the eve of the Kentucky Derby), with the event climaxing at the Kentucky Derby – the Run for the Roses – on May 4.
