World Crypto Conference Set to Remake Vegas as ‘Crypto City’

For a week this month, Sin City may shed its salacious nickname for the more appropriate Crypto City, as the upcoming World Crypto Conference (WCC) comes to town. WCC’s second annual Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Technology conference, hosted by event-management company EVOLV, takes over two levels of the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas for three days – October 29-31, 2019. The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, perhaps best known for its 110,000 square feet of casino space, also offers some 150,000 square feet of convention space.
Expected conference goers will include application developers; representatives from advisory, auditing and academic institutions; executives from financial-service providers and investment firms; government-policy advisors and, of course, business enterprises employing blockchain-based technologies. The event will be part of a series to be held during Vegas Blockchain Week 2019, scheduled for October 25-31, 2019, also being organized by EVOLV.
World Crypto Conference aims to educate and bring participants up to date with thought-provoking panel discussions, product demos and insightful addresses by close to 100 speakers, many of whom are movers and shakers in the crypto space. The lineup includes Bob Wolpert, Tyler Spalding, Kapi Attawar and Chris Ward.
Wolpert is a senior vice president of Golden State Foods, a food-service supplier with approximately $7 billion in revenues derived from serving 120,000 restaurants in more than 40 countries. Spalding is founder and CEO of Flexa, a global network working to unite retail and blockchain technologies. Flexa recently announced a limited launch of its network and mobile app, which enables instant cryptocurrency payments in stores and online. Now, merchants can easily accept bitcoin, ether, Bitcoin Cash and Gemini dollar from consumers who use the new SPEDN mobile wallet.
Attawar is chief revenue officer at Samsung SDS, the information-technology division of the mammoth South Korean conglomerate. Ward is executive vice president of PNC Bank, the large Pittsburgh-based financial-services firm.
For the first time, a multiple blockchain developer conference (WCC DEV CON) is on the agenda. WCC will dedicate an entire ballroom to DEV CON, which will consist of meetups, study sessions, panel discussions featuring key opinion leaders, a hackathon and an un-conference.
The event will also include a mining conference – WCC Mine 2019 – focusing on blockchain infrastructure mining pools. WCC Mine 2019 will feature presentations from equipment suppliers, cloud-mining companies, mining-pool operators and addresses from industry experts on energy transmission and data-center planning and implementation. Guidance on the many ways in which mining operations can be financed will also be provided.
